360X Staffing is hiring for experienced (min 1-2 years) ship fitter or steel fitters. This position is responsible for steel fitting equipment, parts, interiors and exteriors of ships, and shipyard buildings. Fitters need to be able to use a cutting torch. You will need to show they can cut a 90 degree angle on 3/4" steel with a torch and also a 22 degree bevel. Fitters will also need to have basic 7018 stick welding skills and pass a 2F and 3F fillet weld on carbon steel plate. They will 3 run, single pass, 4" beads (basic tack welding) on carbon steel plate. Ideal candidates will have around 1 year of experience 7018 stick welding and heavy steel work.
This is a long term project that will go for next 3+ years. working a mandatory 40 hours a week with saturdays and sundays being volunteer OT. Per Diem is $100 a day.
