Description:
The shop welder performs welding operations in a shop environment. The employee is responsible for ensuring all documentation (drawing, methods & procedures) are complete & at the workstation. The employee will be responsible for layout and fabrication of assigned work. The position may operate a variety of shop equipment and tools. The position may assist other craft workers.
Requirements:
Essential Functions
- MIG, TIG, Stick & Structural Welding
- Plasma Cutter and Torch
- Operate Metal Saw
- Must be able to work in close conjunction with others
- Maintains a clean job site: picks up all tools and equipment and secures work area each day to eliminate potential hazards
- Ensures that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed. Brings problems to the attention of the site supervisor
- Operate or tend equipment and machines used in shop manufacturing
- Follow drawings and instructions from team leader and supervisors
- Follow all safety regulations
- Abide by all personal protective equipment rules and guidelines as set by APS, Inc. and their customers.
