Welder:
A welder in underground utilities is responsible for joining metal pipes and structures used in underground infrastructure such as water, sewer, or gas systems. Your job is to interpret blueprints, select appropriate welding equipment, and ensure weld quality meets project standards. Additionally, you will conduct repairs, adhere to safety procedures, and may need to work in confined spaces.

- Prepare metal surfaces by cleaning and grinding.
- Set up welding machines and adjust settings.
- Perform various welding techniques for different projects.

- Inspect welds for defects using testing methods.
- Conduct repairs on welded parts or structures.
- Adhere to safety procedures and wear PPE.
- Maintain welding equipment and tools.
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and clients.
- Weld in various directions and ignite flame or arc.
- Prepare tools and equipment for welding jobs.
- Clamp, tack-weld, and grind pipes as needed.
- Operate accessory equipment for welding tasks.
- Train crew members on safety practices.
- Secure work site at the end of each shift.
- Ability to travel and perform additional duties as assigned.

- Hourly compensation of $40 to $43 depending on experience.
Requirements:
- Must have experience with oxy acetylene welding.
- 3+ years of field experience in pipeline utilities construction.
- Must be able to pass welding test.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in construction are a plus.
- Ability to stand or walk for extended periods, with repeated lifting (up to 50 lbs.), kneeling, crawling, climbing, and reaching.
- In-depth knowledge of utility construction methods, proper use of tools and materials, and safety practices.
