WELDER/ FABRICATOR

Essential Functions:
- Knowledge of Stick Welding, Air ARC, Plasma, Oxy Acetylene Welding and Torch Cutting required
- Layout, position, and tack weld parts and assemblies according to shop drawings and manufacturers’ specifications
- Weld components and assemblies in flat, horizontal, or vertical position
- Camber and straighten steel using heat and/or mechanical methods
- Heat, cut, form, and dress steel parts using a hand torch, air arc, and/or other welding equipment
- Inspects structural condition of equipment
- With some assistance, reconditions or fabricates components or parts to manufacturer’s specifications
- With some assistance, determines reusability of parts in accordance with published guidelines
- Orders replacement parts
- Other duties as assigned by manager
- Heavy work that includes lifting and/or moving objects up to 85 pounds or more.
Required Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED
- 10 years of welding experience, preferably in the heavy equipment industry helpful
- Pass timed 2G weld tests for GMAW (3G FCAW and SMAW are required for Fitter/Welder III)
- Pass pre-employment drug test
- Good visualization skills (the ability to imagine how objects will look when rotated, moved, or rearranged)
- Requires standing, sitting, bending, squatting, twisting, and must be able to lift 50 lbs.
- Ability to understand simple functions on a computer/tablet.
Additional Eligibility Requirements:
- Must pass all required pre-employment screenings.
- Must have valid drivers license with good driving record.
