- Ability to read and interpret blueprints
- Must have good math skills
- Must pass AWS D 1.1 1” thick 1-G welder qualification
- Must pass tack welder qualification (visual macro break test)
- Ability to use carbon air-arc for back gouging
- Ability to layout weld points on assemblies
