A Growing High Tech manufacturer of Aerospace, Medical and Military type components and assemblies is seeking qualified and experienced TIG/MIG Welder for permanent/fulltime day shift position. Facility is fully air conditioned, clean environment and located in Gilbert, Arizona. Position will require individual to read and understand Blueprints, Weld Procedure Specifications (WPS’s), Work Instructions and related documentation in a NADCAP accredited environment. Welders are required to set up jobs on weld fixturing, utilize TIG/MIG weld process to assemble per drawing specifications and perform initial and in process inspections of assemblies to monitor conformance with blueprint specifications. Inspection instruments to be utilized include calipers, height gages, and related inspection equipment.
Job Responsibilities
Welders are responsible for reviewing documentation packages, identifying required fixtures, weld filler, product components and setting up for TIG/MIG Weld process. Materials to be welded include but are not limited to alloy steels, stainless steel, and aluminum alloys. Setting up may include weld preparation of surfaces to be welded, and proper handling of controlled consumables. While our Quality Assurance, Engineering and Weld Committee staff serve as a valuable resource in our Welding Department, qualified candidate should have a fluent knowledge of welding symbols and a degree of familiarity with navigating welding specifications documents. Qualified candidate must be willing to have cross training in other areas of production and will on an as needed basis be assigned tasks in associated work centers. Additional responsibilities will include weld performance certifications for various metal base groups and weld fillers and a capacity to set-up and run small lots, prototype, and high production quantities. Production staff are required to perform preventative maintenance tasks on related production equipment, provide relevant information to update work instructions, keep a clean work area, stay organized and properly label material lots with inventory tags. While in production, candidate will transact labor via ERP System, one will also be required to adequately fill out documentation associated with each job.
Requirements
First shift position, overtime available (Business Hours 5am to 5pm)
Weld and/or fabricate components to tight tolerances
Read and understand blueprints
Use of precision measuring instruments (i.e. Calipers, Height Gages etc.)
Problem solving skills
Consistently maintain support documentation
Working knowledge of aircraft grade steel and aluminum
Follow detailed work instructions
Occasionally lift up to 50 lbs
