PURPOSE OF POSITION Mississippi Tank – Iowa Division needs a Journeyman Welder to join our team. We are seeking a hard-working individual who is skilled with hand tools, enjoys a challenge, and can work with minimum guidance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.
- Perform MIG weld and Flux Core Ark Welding
· Tack/Weld/Fabrication and repair equipment
· Grinding/cleaning/beveling of fit-ups where required
· Use & Understand various paperwork including schedules, prints, and technical standards
· Demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement by practicing good housekeeping and organization in their work area
· Contribute to the team effort by accomplishing related results within budget, time and quality specifications.
· Demonstrate/regular dependable attendance
· Perform extra assignments in other areas (willing to cross-train)
· Demonstrate a consistent and appropriate sense of urgency
- Read and interpret fabrication drawings and other written instructions
· Strong commitment to quality and working safely
- Operate and maintain welding equipment in a way that does not compromise safety
- Weld components in various positions, such as flat, overhead, and vertical
- Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and others, as need arises
- Ability to show a level of respect to teammates and management.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- This position does not have direct supervisor responsibilities
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- 2 years’ experience required
- AWS or ASME Certifications a plus
- Prior Employment Welding Certifications a plus
- Certificate from an accredited school a plus
- Knowledge of relative safety standards and required to use protective clothing (helmet, steel-toed shoes, apron, etc.)
- Strong attention to detail
- Sound judgment skills
- Good mechanical background
- Ability to fabricate anything on the fly
- Promote a clean, safe work environment
- No substantial gaps of employment
- Training experience and willingness to train others
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 - $28.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
