Inventech Marine Solutions currently has a need for an Aluminum Boat Welder / Fabricator. IMS is an aluminum boat manufacturer located in Bremerton WA. We specialize in high-end custom aluminum boats which can be placed in heavy weathered applications. Both for recreational markets and small government municipalities.
Responsibilities
- Weld Preparation
- Aluminum Mig and Tig Welding
- Fit-up of aluminum parts during construction.
- Understanding of Manufacturing Time Constraints
- Receive Direction from Onsite Welding Supervision
- Ability to Work with Safety at the Forefront of Priorities
- Fabrication with Aluminum
Must Have Skills
- Aluminum Welding experience
- Use of Miller Aluminum Welding Equipment
- Welding experience on similar vessels.
- Knowledge and ability to keep track of parts and materials
- Keep clean and organized working station
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and on teams.
- Skilled problem-solving and negotiation skills.
- Excellent decision-making skills with strong initiative.
- Must have the ability to communicate professionally and effectively (oral and written) as well as the ability to work well with others involved in diverse responsibilities.
- Strong ability to coordinate multiple projects.
- Understand the use of Miller Wire Feed Welding Machines
- Ability to provide own welding helmet and basic air tools. Most tools will be provided.
Application Requirements
Education - Basic Math Principles, Ability to Read Dimensions on Drawings
Experience – Must Have at a Minimum 2 Years of aluminum welding experience
Physical Ability for Work Demands - Ability to maneuver in tight places, use stairs/ladders on a daily basis, ability to lift and move objects in weight up to 50lbs.
Skills Test - A onsite skills test will be used to evaluate the skills of the applicant before award. The skills of the applicant must exceed that of those needed to perform the test. This includes a full understanding of how to set up and perform aluminum welding with a MIG welder.
Working Conditions
- Standard work day 6AM - 2:30 PM
- Tools and safety equipment will be provided
