Welder / Construction Labor
Commercial Window company looking for Welders / Construction Labor. Great opportunity to learn new skills within the construction industry from a well-established company.
Position:
NOTE: This is not a welding only position. You will help in all aspects of the production and installation of our products in addition to welding.
- Will be welding on construction jobsite and/or in a shop environment.
- Welders will also install aluminum window frames, door frames, unitized window systems, store fronts and curtain walls on building fronts. Must be installed into rough openings and on the front of multi-story buildings, typically on a leading edge of an elevated level.
- Handle and move large, heavy, and sharp glass units, aluminum frames, and other materials.
- Hang large, heavy all-glass doors onto installed aluminum door frames.
- Must have reliable transportation
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. and work in an indoor and outdoor environment.
- Perform general physical activities - Able to perform physical activities that involve substantial use of arms, legs, and moving the whole body (i.e. climbing, lifting, bending, walking, kneeling balancing, and handling of large, sharp, heavy, fragile, and potentially dangerous materials).
- Shop/Office located in Chandler, AZ (moving in March to Mesa, AZ). Job sites throughout the Metro Phoenix area.
- Must be a reliable, hard-working motivated team player.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States, pass basic math test and pass drug screening.
Skills and Abilities: Certifications preferred but will consider non-certified.
- General knowledge of standard welding processes and practices.
- Experience with all tools required for the installation of architectural and ornamental metalwork.
- Able to safely operate equipment, power tools, and other various materials.
- Capable of installing sharp, heavy, fragile and potentially dangerous materials per project specs.
- Strength – Able to exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull and/or carry objects. Able to exert muscle force repeatedly and continually over time with resistance of muscle fatigue.
- Flexibility – Able to stretch, bend, twist, and reach with your body.
- Dexterity – Able to quickly and precisely move both arms and hands to manipulate and position objects.
- Hand Dexterity – Able to perform simple, repetitive tasks with your hand, wrist, and fingers. Able to use hands and arms while handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials and manipulating objects.
- Mathematical Ability – Must perform mathematical functions quickly and correctly, this includes but is not limited to: counting, adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing.
- Prior construction knowledge of materials, methods and the tools involved in the construction.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints / specifications to determine size, type and dimensions of glass. Ability to interpret drawings to establish location for staging materials and framing, and installation procedures.
