WELDER – WELDING ROBOT OPERATOR - 2nd Shift.
****PAY is $24.40/hour until training is completed on 1st shift (6 AM - 2:30 PM). Then you will move to 2nd Shift and get the $2/hour pay shift differential.

GENERAL SUMMARY: A Robotic Welder performs duties necessary to weld material according to customer specifications using robotic weld equipment. In addition to preparing orders according to customer specifications, a Robotic Welder is also responsible for the proper set-up, communication with proceeding shifts and safe operation and storage of materials and equipment. Will be required to operate welding equipment and perform welding, operate all related hand and air tools as needed. Operate material handling equipment when required, perform daily and routine maintenance, replenish parts via Kan Baan and visual trigger. Maintain 5s improvements, CI improvements, safety, quality, efficiency. Learn numerous weld processes on multiple jobs. Perform other jobs within plant or department as required by supervision.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Operate weld equipment as directed by supervisor.
- Setup and operate various robotic weld programs
- Trouble shoot basic issues encountered in robotic program
- Adjust robot programs
- Produce welded parts directly from drawings and work instructions without supervision
- Can efficiently and accurately operate robotic welder & metal finishing equipment
- Inspect parts to ensure accuracy
- Perform all weld positions and types of welding.
- Report labor and job data accurately.
- Maintain quality, safety and efficiency.
- Maintain clean and neat work area.
- Perform other jobs within the department or plant as required by supervision.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Equivalent of one year acceptable welding experience, one year of technical college, Company welding course or equivalent training.
WORK EXPERIENCE:
Prior experience in a manufacturing environment is beneficial. Equivalent of two years acceptable welding experience preferred or satisfactorily completing the Company welding course. Must successfully pass “B” Welder qualification test to qualify.
SKILLS:
Strong interpersonal and communication skills are required. Possess the ability to set up and operate welding machines. Ability to read and understand prints, bills of material, ARI and safety notices. Responsible and accountable for completing all job-related checklists and safety-related checklists, and lists pertaining to a particular cab or part and safety checklists at the beginning of each shift.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to physically perform essential functions of the job. Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 10 lbs., and occasionally up to 50 lbs. Typically requires standing on a regular basis, and walking, climbing, stooping, crouching, kneeling, reaching and handling occasionally. Specific vision requirements include depth perception and peripheral vision.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Regularly exposed to noise, odors, dust, chemicals, temperature extremes, hazardous substances, drafts, vibration, electricity and heights. Typically requires the use of welders, hand tools, hoists, cranes, saws, all air tools, grinders, die grinders, orbiters, drill presses, and roller press. Hearing protection, safety glasses, steel-toed shoes, face shield or goggles, welding helmet and gloves are required.
