POSITION SUMMARY:
Take raw material and/or components and fuse together using proper weld procedures while following prints to ensure proper fitment and QC measurements CTF.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Read drawings to take measurements and properly plan and lay out components for sub-assemblies.
- Determine appropriate welding equipment and method based on drawings and/or verbal command.
- Operate angle grinder and other tools to prep and clean parts.
- Keep standard of product throughput based on production scheduling.
- Maintain equipment through preventative maintenance and cleaning.
- Maintain a clean and clutter free work environment.
- Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of the position.
OTHER FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES:
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
SUCCESS FACTORS:
- Positively work with all shop leads/employees to maintain a fluid and happy workflow.
- Maintain understanding of parts necessary to complete machines. Communicate of short/missed parts with ample time to address.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required - High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Welding certification in MIG and/or TIG
Desired - 2 years of welding experience in a production environment.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work in a factory setting and follow Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required in accordance with Company Policy. For forklift operation, required to obtain and maintain Forklift Diver Certification through the Company and operate in a safe manner. Required to stand for long periods of time and manually lift/move/manipulate parts to build units complete and with full QC. Temperatures may be elevated in the summer months. Needs to be able to cope with stressors and demands that are associated with the job and/or the work environment so that acceptable and defined levels of performance are maintained.
Physical Demands - Finger and arm dexterity skills required with the ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to rotate, kneel, step up, and reach around parts, machinery, and units.
Work Environment - Constant machinery noise, excessive tool noise, heat, and light air borne particles.
- Work 1st or offset shift to maintain production requirements.
