Panelmatic, Inc. was founded in 1957 in Youngstown, OH to serve manufacturing industries with the design and build of custom electrical, instrument, and pneumatic control panels. Our business has sufficiently grown over the years to support expansion for our clients.
We have produced control packages for many of America's top corporations in the chemical, environmental, food, pulp and paper, rubber, petroleum, pharmaceutical, glass, metals, and utilities industries. Panelmatic Building Systems (PBS) is looking for experienced Fabricators and Welders in Brookfield, OH as part of recent business expansion in Northeast Ohio. PBS manufacturers in the modular building, electrical enclosure and utility markets. PBS offers a benefits package including medical, dental/optical fund, 401k, employee stock bonus, bonus, paid holidays, and personal time off.
JOB PURPOSE:
Produce a variety of sheet metal parts, which meet dimensional requirements. Set up and align parts per shop prints in preparation for welding and perform welding operations, and final fabrication assembly. You will work either individually, or as part of a small team to produce metal buildings and enclosures.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (other duties may be assigned):
1. Demonstrate safe and proper work habits, and wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) during the operation of this job.
2. Reference shop prints to determine where each weld is to be performed and meet the size and length requirements of each weld specified.
3. Ability to MIG weld mild steel.
4. Ability to MIG weld stainless steel.
5. Ability to perform basic fitting.
6. Ability to adjust the machine to maintain proper welds.
7. Ability to remove material using grinding process.
8. Ability to read drawings and inspect parts for basic dimensions.
9. Ability to perform basic layouts (positioning and alignment).
10. Ability to inspect parts against complex engineered drawings.
11. Ability to spray transfer MIG weld.
12. Capability to examine weld bead for acceptable attributes.
13. Ability to cope and fit.
14. Ability to maintain overall dimensions, square, and plum during the welding process.
15. Ability to finish grind, surface finishing based on departmental requirements.
16. Ability to repair improper welds.
17. Ability to tack weld.
18. Ability to stud weld.
19. Ability to square parts.
20. Ability to torch cut.
21. Knowledge of and ability to use basic tools (tape measure squares, clamps, fillet gauge, angle finder, etc.).
22. Ability to convert decimals to fractions and utilize conversion chart.
23. Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers.
24. Ability to effectively work in a team environment.
25. Notify the lead person or Inspector when product is ready for inspection.
26. Maintains a clean work area each day and returns tools to their proper locations.
QUALIFICATIONS:
A. Equipment Used: Shear, brake press, turret punch, CNC laser, ironworker, band saw, welding machine, cutting torch, plasma cutter, grinder, overhead crane, ratchet straps, tape measure, and other hand tools.
B. Certificates, licenses, and registrations: Must have or achieve welding certification. Ability to obtain and maintain a fork truck license if required.
C. Knowledge/Skills: Able to read a tape measure and shop prints. Able to properly operate welding equipment. Must be trained in applicable QAPs (Quality Assurance Procedures) and work instructions, if any.
D. Education/Experience: At least 1 year of welding experience from either on the job training, Vocational/Technical degree in welding, or the equivalent. High school diploma or equivalency (GED) preferred, but not required.
E. Language Skills: Able to read and comprehend simple or somewhat complex instructions. Able to write notes or simple correspondence. Able to effectively communicate information to coworkers.

Pay: $18.00 - $28.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 48 per week
