Essential Duties
· Examine completed workpieces for defects such as chipped edges and marred surfaces, and sort defective pieces according to types of flaws. · · Load workpieces into machines.
· Start machines, monitor their operations, and record operational data.
· Clean and lubricate machines.
· Position, align, and secure workpieces against fixtures or stops on machine beds or on dies.
· Plan sequences of operations, applying knowledge of physical properties of workpiece materials.
- Preheat workpieces with the robot.
Required Knowledge
- Knowledge in set-up and adjustment of welding equipment.
- Knowledge in welding machine repair, lead changing, tip replacement, and wire changing.
- Reads and correctly interprets basic information on blueprints.
- Knows and follows correct use of lifting chains and clamps.
- Knowledge in use of torching equipment, torch setting, and regular settings.
- Consistently maintains acceptable production level for skill level.
- Skilled in use of tape measures and fractions.
- Operates all required production equipment in a safe manner.
- Using overhead crane according to all safety requirements, chain rigging, beam turning, etc.
- Understanding of proper preheat usage and requirements.
- Knowledge of safety procedures regarding chemicals.
- Cleaning and maintaining equipment and machinery.
- Basic computer skills.
