The Welder I is an entry level welding position. The candidate must pass CCI's welding tests. The job requires a safety oriented individual, who performs quality work.
This position will be responsible for driving CCI's Mission, Vision, and Values, a crucial part of the strategic plan to drive success. CCI Industrial Services leads the industry in Safety, Innovation, and Excellence. CCI's mission is to provide quality-driven, cost-effective construction, maintenance, industrial cleaning, power generation, and transportation services to support resource development companies.

- Ensure a safe work environment.
- Properly fit up steel components to be welded.
- Prepares weld surface as necessary.
- Welds Stick, MIG, or TIG depending on job.
- Cleans or degreases weld joint or work piece as required.
- Properly use and care for the welding electrodes and welding equipment utilized in the process the individual is qualified to perform.
- Maintain 100% VTA and training requirements.
- Performs work in a safety conscious manner.
- Informs supervisor of any incidents involving injury, spills, equipment malfunction and/or damage.
- Supervises and mentors helpers when assigned.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Knowledge of safety standards and willingness to use PPE.
- Knowledge of Isometrics, blue prints and P&IDs.
- Knowledge of AWS, ANSI, and ASME codes.
- Knowledge of the functional operation of welding equipment, electrodes, fluxes, shielding gases, and types of welding processes.
- Ability to read Isometrics and basic blueprints.

The position is on-call 24 hours/day while on shift. Flexibility regarding hours of work is required as needed to meet demands of the job. Position may be reassigned at any time to meet operational objectives.
- Position may be exposed to extremely hostile weather conditions at times while working outdoors.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works at the construction site. The employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts; high precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock. The noise in these work environments is usually moderate to very loud.
- Position may be working with potentially hazardous materials and wastes.
- The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles in a mechanical shop environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Hearing protection and the use of safety eyewear is required in most working situations.
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. A pre-hire post offer Functional Capacity Evaluation (FCE), respirator fit test and audiogram will be conducted to determine an employee's ability to perform to the job standard. - MOBILITY: Must be able to access all controls and all parts of machinery for service. Must be able to push/pull 50 pounds for 20 feet.
- HEARING: Must be able to hear audible safety alarms.
- VISUAL ACUITY: Must be adequate to perform above listed tasks in a safe manner and take hand signals from ground man or flag man.
- LIFTING: Must be able to routinely lift up to 50 pounds from floor to waist, 30 pounds from wait level to shoulder height and carry 50 pounds for 20 feet.
- RANGE OF MOTION: An objective range of motion measurement will be conducted and recorded using a five position and rapid exchange grip strength test during the pre-hire/post offer FCE.

Requirements:
- High school Diploma or GED is required.
- 1 year of welding experience or welding degree is required.
- Pass a structural or carbon pipe is required upon acceptance of offer is required.
- Pass CCI's welding test is required upon acceptance of offer is required.
- A current OSHA 10 training is required.
- TWIC card to be obtained upon hire if contract required.
- Valid Driver's License is required.
- Valid current driver's license is preferred.
- Arctic experience is preferred.
