Utilities - Gas
Under the direct supervision of the Gas Crew Chief, performs a variety of skilled and unskilled work in maintenance, construction and repair of gas department mains, structures and customer service lines. Primarily does welding and PE fusion on gas mains, structures and service lines
- Assists with the layout, assembly, installation, maintenance, repair and removal of underground/above ground natural gas distribution mains, services, equipment and meter activity.
Does arc, Oxy/acetylene welding and PE plastic fusion for gas department activities and other departments as needed.
Measures, marks, grinds and aligns pipes for cutting, welding, and fusion.
Tap mains and services using TD Williams equipment.
Ensures work crew installations meet all standards, regulations and codes
Ensures safety of work crew and general public
Ability to recognize, react and report any abnormal operating conditions.
Knowledge, skills and ability to do all tasks required in a Pipefitter job description.
Any combination of education, training and experience equivalent to graduation from high school plus five years’ experience with natural gas company or equivalent experience.
- Possession of, or ability to obtain and maintain, a valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License within six (6) months of hire.
Must pass oxy/acetylene, fusion, arc and PE weld qualifications, within six (6) months of hire, and continue to pass annually.

40 hours per week.
Monday - Friday, day hours, subject to recall
15 minutes from duty station, per Google Maps, within six months of hire.
