Reporting to the VP of Operations, this is a temp-to-hire position. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis without visa sponsorship.
Job Responsibilities:
- Welding moto packs, relay boxes, submersible, vault mount and pad mount units, and fabricating high and low voltage cabinets, use of overhead crane, supervised re-working of units.
- Perform TIG (gas metal tungsten welding), MIG (gas metal arc welding), GMAW-P (pulse gas metal arc welding) welding.
- Weld small inventory parts such as B-parts and expansion chambers. Use copper backing strips when necessary.
- Weld grinding and sanding may also be required and removing of excess weld metal using air tool grinders and electrical grinders.
- Ability to shape corners without losing measurement (spec tolerances) and removing blemishes from the surface of material (e.g., pinholes, scratches and heat tint from surface).
- Ability to read a traveler and drawing packet fo requirements such as selection of materials, measurements, weld types, and specified dimensions/tolerances.
- Examine work pieces and measure work pieces with straightedge, measuring tape and combination square.
- Tack and fit up material using clamps or fixtures to hold proper specified/alignment location until final welding.
- Gas tungsten arc welding (TIG) ability to control heat using proper travel speed, soft start, and soft spot (pedal control), avoiding burn through and distortion of material.
- Maintain consistency in welding various thickness of materials.
- Pulse gas metal arc welding (GMAW-P) ability to use proper travel speed, wire feed speed and voltage.
Job Requirements:

- Ability to read a traveler and drawing packet for requirements such as selection of materials, measurements, weld types, and specified dimensions/tolerances.

- Gas metal arc welding (MIG) - ability to use proper travel speed, wire feed speed and voltage.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $32.10 - $33.50 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Weekends as needed
