EDCO Fabrication in Frederick, Maryland is seeking a skilled Welder to join our team and contribute to the construction of high-quality subassemblies. The hours are Monday - Friday, 6:00 am to 2:30 pm. Good attendance is paramount to remain successful in this position.
The successful candidate will be responsible for welding specified pieces of different metals such as 16 gauge - 7 gauge steel, reading blueprints, understanding weld symbols, and fabricating low volume weldments. This job requires precision MIG welding using .035 ER705-6 wire. Candidate needs to be able to weld assemblies with minimum distortion and maintain 1/32" tolerances.
Additionally, they will accurately set up and install pem hardware using a press machine, follow production schedules, and work at different workstations during the welding process.
Operating a forklift may be required, and supporting other departments as needed. The role also involves maintaining inventory levels on consumables and hardware, with other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
Minimum 2 years of welding experience in a manufacturing environment.
High School diploma or equivalent.
Proficiency in Mig and Tig methods of welding.
Ability to read part prints for weld size, frequency and dimensional requirements and solve routine math problems.
Occasional lifting of up to 80 lbs.
Ability to stand for 8 hours per day.
Routine bending and squatting to handle parts.
Strong work ethic and good attendance/punctuality.
Ability to follow directions and work independently.
Ability to hear/talk frequently.
Ability to work around fumes, sparks, and moving mechanical parts.
Adherence to company policies on civil rights matters (e.g., sexual harassment, ethnic harassment, etc.).
