Welder in steel fabrication and construction company needed for long term full time position. Must be a team player, great communicator, multi-tasker, and reliable with a desire to learn under a fast paced environment. We are seeking the ability to work calmly and efficiently to contribute to company success. We are a family owned, small, local company with over 65 years of experience in steel fabrication.
Hours of operation M-F 7am - 330pm

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Works under immediate supervision to include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

· Mig & Stick welding abilities

· Welds metal parts together using both gas welding or brazing and any combination of arc welding processes.

· Performs related tasks such as thermal cutting and grinding.

· Repairs broken or cracked parts, fills holes, and increases size of metal parts.

· Positions and clamps together components of fabricated metal products preparatory to welding.

· Locates and repairs cracks in industrial engine cylinder heads.

· Welding components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions

· Operating safety equipment and using safe work habits

· Examining work pieces for defects and measure work pieces with straightedges or templates to ensure conformance with specifications

· Welding separately or in combination, using aluminum, stainless steel, cast iron, and other alloys

· Clamping, holding, tack-welding, heat-bending, grinding or bolting component parts to obtain required configurations and positions for welding

· The ability to look at and understand drawings/plans is helpful but not required.
Other Responsibilities:
-Handle and transport materials (structural and plates) and equipment (eg drills and grinders)
-Use power tools and machinery (eg forklifts) when needed
-Clean up work areas and keep area tidy
-Punctuality and attendance
Qualifications:
-Ability to meet physical demands of the job (standing for long periods of time, lifting heavy loads of up to 40 lbs)
-Good hand eye coordination
-Familiarity with power tools and machinery is a plus
-Commitment to safety rules as one of our priorities

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $40.00 per hour
