Position Overview: As a Welder/Fitter at Copperloy, you will be responsible for the precise fabrication and assembly of large steel structures based on blueprints and specifications. The ideal candidate will possess advanced proficiency in welding and fitting techniques, along with the ability to interpret blueprints accurately. This role requires experience operating overhead cranes and forklifts to handle materials safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities:

Interpret and comprehend blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders to determine materials, dimensions, and welding procedures required
Fit large steel fabrications together from blueprints with minimal supervision, ensuring precise alignment and adherence to specifications
Utilize various welding techniques, including MIG and stick welding, to fuse metal components together securely
Safely operate overhead cranes and forklifts to maneuver materials and finished products throughout the fabrication process
Conduct thorough inspections of welded joints and structures to verify compliance with quality standards and specifications
Maintain a clean and organized work area, following all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a hazard-free environment

Requirements:

Proven track record as a Welder/Fitter in a manufacturing or industrial setting
Proficient in reading and understanding blueprints, technical drawings, and welding symbols
Demonstrated expertise in fitting and welding large steel fabrications with precision and accuracy
Experience operating overhead cranes and forklifts, with a strong emphasis on safety
Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with team members to achieve project goals
Welding certification(s) preferred, but not required
